    Edit maps without SDK yet ?

    Hey since i am new into this mapping and so on, i want to ask if i can edit some maps like in the last mission in no mercy (which is the finale), i want to add some new props and defence sturcture.

    I saw alot of mappers but how did they build maps without SDK yet ?

    as i know they use the sdk of half life 2 and they turn it somehow to left 4 dead and then they make maps have a look:
