After a short debate with the folks at L4Dforums about certain issues regarding our mod updates we have decided to pull the plug on them.
It seems they feel that we are "stealing" their website traffic by posting our website link on their forums.
Correct me if I'm wrong here folks but without mods like Ground Zero, would that website have any traffic?
Laughable.
http://left4deadforums.com recieves over 300,000 hits a day. Other people supply direct links to their files in the modding and editing sub forum. Others supply updates directly in the forums.
It is a bit shitty of you to refuse to do so. As CAW pointed out, there are free image hosts you can use, the forums have their own attachments which are free to use. In the main, people will browse a forum, check a thread and IF they click an external link they'll expect to see something. You don't even link to the "media" in question just to your homepage with a plea for people to register.
Research 'bounce rate' to see the folly of this activity.
It beggars belief that you fail to see the logic behind displaying your work where it will most be seen, in the thread, where the traffic is.
Supplying links back to your site without giving the people who may be interested something to go on is bad form and indicative of your immature attitude. What are you, twelve?
It's a shame, because you have a good idea, and you would have had the full support of one of the largest DEDICATED Left 4 Dead communities on the planet, but instead you pulled a hissy fit, acted like a spoiled little shit and insisted on going down this "you're nothing without us" route.
Best of luck to your team, because with your childish leadership I see FAIL stamped all across this.

If those guys had any sense they would be attempting to stay friendly with as many affiliates as possible.

Correct, and NOT taking on the second largest L4D community (unofficial) in the world.
