Thread: Build-A-Band

This topic was created to build the greatest band. Which lead singer would you want? Which guitarist, bassist and drummer would you want if you were to create a band? Think of it like building a team and you have the money to hire the very best.

For example...

Perhaps your idea of the greatest band would be...

Lead Vocals: Bono (U2)
Guitar: Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction)
Bass: Les Claypool (Primus)
Drum: Jimmy Chamberlain (Smashing Pumpkins)

You could use solo artists as well, but the point is to create the ultimate band. One may also make the argument that your choices would depend on the style of music you were looking to play. In this case, just create your ideal band.

Please remember to include the band(s) that they belong to so the rest of us go, "Oh, I know that guy." Also, feel free to include any musician from any era. A Jimi Hendrix, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Flea and Carter Beauford combo might be pretty neat.

Your band can also be any size, but please try not to create the Polyphonic Spree... they're kind of a joke.

Please keep flaming to a minimum.

Drums: Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen)/or Don Henley (Eagle, Solo)
Bass: Jimi Hendrix (Solo)
Vocals: Bo Diddley (Solo)

Drums: Dany Carey (Tool, the most unreproducible drummer to ever live, ask a drummer and they will tell you. He plays and its more musical than the guitar player at times)
Vocals/Rhythm: Brad Nowell (Sublime)
Vocals/Kazoo/Harmonica: Shannon Hoon (Blind Melon)

Both my singers are dead so if they have to be alive I would go with

Vocals (when little is required): Janis Joplin - unbelievable soul for a white girl from Texas

Rick Ruben would produce every song if I had my druthers
