no for the akimbo assassin achievement pistols only no grenades or other guns but you can use gas cans and propane tanks BOOM!!!

i did the no mercy campagin and let the bots kill all the specail in fected Eg tank witch i used a molotov and still got it

I got this on Death Toll online, fairly easy. You can use Molotov Cocktails and Pipe Bombs because they're technically grenades and not firearms, whereas a Mounted Minigun is.

Here's a cheap little trick for the X-box. Split screen the game with yourself, on your first game use your pistols on a few zombies, after that select "take a break", from that point on it will only count what the character did under your control, the NPC version of you can do whatever it wants and it will not count against you (Use guns, etc), however you will have to continue the game on your second character, or else it will close the server since all players are idle, for best results just steamroll through it on easy mode.

NOTE: You can do whatever you want on the second character, as long as the first does what the above mentions then you will get it.
