I had a Dell once... it was badass for about 2 weeks, then it sucked. Alienware isn't gunna do shit for Dell, and Dell isn't gunna do shit for Alienware.

Dell's can be a good value if you are looking for a low to mid level computer only if the first thing you do with it is reinstall windows. They come with some mauch middleware stacks, funky partitions and propioty windows that it is best to just wipe all that out and start with a standard install of windows.

Also know that they use propopity fans, mother boards and power supplies, that aren't that easy to find or cheap.

I am actually looking into getting a laptop for work/game/stuff and was considering a Dell but am not really sure about what I want to do. It would be more for work than gaming but I would at least like to have the option under or as close to $1500 as possible. Anybody know of any other laptops that I could possibly consider.

As for Dell and Alienware, Dell just hopes it can garner more gamers...It isn't a bad business decision for either one, but who knows if it will actually pan out.

Yeah, I actually looked into one those. They didn't have the right size handles for me on the side so I couldn't carry it where I needed to. Plus all my sharpies ran out of ink so I would have to use paint and crayons.
