I know this is a video link, but I think it might draw some good intellectual conversation and maybe posting of other links to other hockey blooper vids, goals, and probably fights (though i hope not). Also in this video you won't find any persons by the name of canadianpersian though many of the players are in fact canadians.

Hi all. I have a room above another with some holes connecting the two and ladders/infected-only ladders connecting them so that the infected that are spawned down below can climb up and get us.
the common infected are fine and don't even need the ladders to jump up and climb through the holes. The other's are fairly lazy though: I managed to get the hunter to climb up the ladder eventually but the boomer and smoker just ignored it. they tend to just hang about directly underneath where I'm standing and even when I stand over the ladder, they don't get it.
On the official maps, they don't have a problem following you about so I'm not sure what to do about it.
the ladders are functioning - I had the hunter doing it a couple of times- with nav connections.

any suggestions?

here's part of the answer, for anyone interested: it seems that smokers like to have something to hide behind so they'll come up if there's something obscuring the hole (like a big rock).
smokers just seem to be fat and lazy so perhaps placing some food at the top will help.
