that's right. and some "cheats" are merely console commands that turn off things like gravity...turn on things like god mode. They're not hacks into the software...simply things the designers themselves wrote into the game for who knows what reasons.

sites distributing those are the same as sites distributing console commands for player and server.cfg's.

hacks, however, are software packages.....advertising specific config layouts that confer advantages over normal play....shit like that.

and, the site mods have a topic, and responsibility, for finding these things. I appreciate you guys speaking out about things you find......but I'm locking this down.

the mods have found many many more, including these, ever since we went live with teh ads.

funny....but no, it's not.

sometimes, the site they advertise is not the site it goes to, or comes from. so...you gotta click it.

even then, most cheat sites are about CVAR codes and game codes.....stupid stuff. Not real deal download for-purchase hacks.

left4dead.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

that is the error. L4d worked fine before i reformatted. all my drivers are up to date. but now when ever i start it to play that error pops up.

-i have reinstalled (5 times)
-double checked my drivers

if anyone has a idea please help.

Did you also reinstall Steam, or just L4D?

Are there any error messages in your Windows Event Viewer?
