You can kick a lot of ass and not have a ton of kills; check your assists and work on bouncing people with those rockets!
That or run medic; the other night Redeye and I switched back and forth with the medic swapping 1st and 2nd place on our team as Medic, by the end of the night I thik 1/2 our team was playing medic and I probably didnt kill a single person when running lab coat style.

Yeah, and you also have to keep in mind a few other things;
1. Team Fortress 2 is, as the name suggests, team-based. It's also objective-based. To win, your team takes the objectives. If you happen to get a bunch of kills in the process, that's cool, but it's not the goal of the game. It's just something that happens on the way there.
2. Multiplayer games pit you against people of widely varying skills (well, some console games try to get you with people on a similar skill level, but whatever). If you end up against people who kick your ass, it may not mean that you suck, but that you suck compared to them.
3. We all have matches... even whole evenings of them... where we just aren't on par with our usual level of ass-kickery... and sometimes we find ourselves well above that level. If you always did well, it would get boring after a while, and you'd find yourself just hoping for someone good enough to shake things up. I have had this experience before in a couple of games I was especially good at. I have also had times where I can't do anything right. Yesterday I just couldn't get a break. We'll see if I've shaken off enough stress to do well tonight.
4. You might not be playing a class that's ideal for you. If I get more than a single kill as a Scout, I'm doing better than usual, but as a Heavy, it just means that I should grab some more ammo.

L4D 2 Load Trouble
Pasted from another thread i started in another sub-forum......
I've already notified Steam of this. So, here goes....
I spend a better part of an afternoon downloading L4D 2. I paid the full price of $50. I start the game up and get thru the opening video. Then to the loading screen. I sat there for 2 minutes looking at it. It never did squat. I tried to ctrl-alt-delete to get out of it. Nope. I tried hitting my Windows key which brings up the Start Menu which ALWAYS gets me out of whatever i'm doing if something freezes. Nope. I had to do a hard shut down. Tried it again. Same thing.
I'm really ticked off because of this. I've contacted Steam over this one with a harsh e-mail. I don't take kindly to spending money like this to have this happen. Never had this trouble with L4D 1... ever.
Any suggestions?
