all the good writers in the world have fallen off the face of the planet. look at American blockbuster movies. kinda makes me want to vomit at times. other times I realize that I am allergic to hot tamales and shouldn't buy them at the snack bar.

A few great modern screenwriters (and directors) I can think of off the top of my head are Michael Mann, the Coen Brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Charlie Kaufman. There are many more.
