Nice change of pace from 2142 though!

That's probably in part, because the lower levels, everything dies so quickly because they are lower levels. It depends on the attack too though. It is a bit more realistic like that I feel, since you do have to swing pretty close to still hit them, it just doesn't always do the same amount of damage (also in part due to the weapon's varying damage along with the skills). If you really swing a sword, you're not always spot on, but if you get close, you can still hurt them. Depends on how big of a gap you are talking about though since I'm usually pretty close and spot on with my attacks.
The melee (warrior) classes are the Guardian (Tank type class) and the Blademaster (dual wielding damage dealing class). I have both and so far I prefer the Blademaster as the damage you can deal is pretty sweet once you get your second weapon. I haven't tried the ranged classes yet, but I have tried the Cabalists (mage users). The Summoner is kind of like a Necromancer in Diablo 2 where you really just summon a bunch of minions you can't control and use your weapon to attack with them. The Evoker is more so your typical Mage class, but still not the greatest from what I've seen. But I didn't get far with either of them so I can't give an accurate account for their classes.
Also, fyi, going into 1st person as a Cabalists is pretty bad ass. Gives you a nice look of a FPS with the feel of an action/adventure game (I wouldn't call it an MMO). I'm sure the same can be said of the Ranger classes (Marksman and Engineer) I just haven't tried them yet.

If you are a Blademaster or Guardian (the melee classes), you can't, though I wish you could.
For any of the other classes, just zoom in all the way with the mouse and you'll see your weapon and be in 1st person mode.
My fault too though for getting off topic. My bad.

Matchmaking Problems
Whenever I try to play L4D2 on versus or scavenge, (searching through the "quickmatch" option) it just tells me no games were found. In L4D1, I can search for quick match on versus and be straight in within 10 seconds. L4D2 I haven't been able to play online yet, so the only way I can enjoy L4D2 online is to play as guests on friends xboxes. Does anyone have this problem? My NAT type is set to OPEN so it can't be that.
