    RE: PC I

You need a cpu heatsink too man. I'd go with zalmon.

...or water cooling. I'm sure people are going to bring that up.

The heatsinks included with AMD processors have been known to work very well. So I decided to go with those.

Benchmarks have been done with Intel's and AMD's top-of-the-line processors. Intel gets their asses handed to them. Fact.

I know he already said he uses the stock, but if you read the warranty on the new dual cores, if you don't use their heatsink, your warranty is void. So it's a better idea to stick with theirs. Plus you don't need thermal paste, it comes with it's own peel-n-go paste.

As far as intel getting handed, not really, the difference in benchmarks is minimal, if you go 2 seperate cores for intel it outperforms AMD, but intel's dual core system gets handed. That is fact. AMD's DC > Intels, but Intels solo binding two < AMD's.

It's a leap frog industry, neither will be ahead very long, and if they are, it's neck and neck.

    (Also I think it's Hyper-Threading)

If you're not going to do SLI, change your mobo. No reason having 2 slots if you won't make use of them right off the bat. By the time you have the money for a second 7900gtx, there will be a better mobo/card out there to support it.

Why do you need a 600 supply? You should be fine unless you're using 2 opticals + 4 harddrives. I run a 4200+, 2 IDE Drives + 1 Sata + 2 DVD burners, and I run fine with a 500w. Unless your sound card takes a million and a half, since I havent read up much on the newer ones.

Sounds like a nice computer, if a bit expensive. If at all possible I'd just buy a CD drive unless you're buying Windows XP 64 bit, because 32 bit applications have problems on a 64 bit core without windows 64. I have to use my old 1.4 ghz to burn dvd's most of the time since my computer messes up the audio track by about 2 seconds (Doesn't get fixed by altering audio track by that amount. It still messes up, just something about windows.) Weird errors you don't normally get, ... 64 bit is quirky right now since all the applications don't know how to implement it yet. It's fast, I'll grant you that, and it's worth the money, but be prepared for quirky things to happen.

    Thanks for the comments..

The processor sjt posted is a little too expensive.. and I'm already hyped up for dual cores anyway, I might go for a 4800+ if anything.

Anyone suggest I should go SLI with this?
