kodiak bears are not grizzly bears. Kodiak bears are brown bears that are geographically isolated on kodiak island alaska, this was just a big fucking grizzly. But yes kodiaks are the largest bears and as it turns out this bear actually didnt break and world records for size.

kodiak and grizzley are both subspecies of brown bears... however i stand corrected

a bear is a bear... grizzley, black, brown, kodiak, polar.... they are all the same.
