The WTF Hunters, Ninja Tanks and Spawning BS
Who hates when you melee a Hunter and you still get slashed by it? I don't mind it but on Expert, its cheap. He might as well just pounce you if a single slash does that much damage. Once you melee, they should be stunned completely, no BS slash. I cannot tell you enough how many times my teammates are dead and I survive long enough for them to respawn, then seeing a Hunter, meleeing the said Hunter, and the bastard incaps me thanks to his slash.
Ninja Tanks. Is the AI Director really so ruthless that he sometimes doesn't give warning of a Tank? Or is it just me who has this problem? Often times I walk by a door or passage and there's a Tank standing right there silently yelling at himself. I have often see them cheaply placed in saferooms and you open the door and BAM, you dead, bro. I remember playing Hard 8 yesterday and all the specials spawned in the saferoom. Its BS that WE can't spawn in a saferoom in Versus yet they can. It can be pretty beneficial in Versus where a Boomer can spawn in a saferoom after the group leaves (like say, No Mercy 2), and the other 3 infected placed elsewhere.Mincegamer: Crimson is a goldmine of funny quotes.KillerJay: I just realized what Creamy is to everyone; everyone loves him and nobody hates him.

I hate em both. especialy ninja Tanks. It doesnt bug me as much if he already spwaned and it doesnt give me any warning such as Tanks Yells on my captions, but what I realy hate is when he spawns right in front of me. Scares the crap outa me. My first instinct is to whack him, but it rarely works.

The AI director is exceptionally well tuned to the survivors' gameplay and intentionally pulls stunts to catch players out. I observed this on more than one occasion today when I was trying (just to test myself really) to see how far I could get on No Mercy Solo. Now, I was playing on EASY, and the game was still absolutely raping me. I'd die in the level, and when I retried, the director would spawn SI and/or tanks in locations where I'd struggled with previously, or, the favourite trick that it loves playing on me, spawning a tank in amongst a shitload of common infected. (Whoever says that the director gets rid of commons when it spawns a tank is blatantly wrong, as I get caught in a crowd of commons at least 50/50 when fighting a tank). Not only that, but once when I managed to kill the tank solo, the director spawned another later in the map! I have to say it does give me a bit of respect for the game, and even more respect for people who can do solo on expert and make it look easy.

The Hunter isn't the worst one about it, at least you don't get slashed the moment he misses a pounce or you counter it with a push. The jockey on the other hand, is always a completely asshole about this. Missed or blocked pounce? 20 damage is your reward on expert. Sometimes I think it's better just to let the pounce connect so someone can immediately shoot his ass off and I won't take the hit, but only when I trust my teammates fully.
I've only encountered this Ninja Tank phenomenon a few times, thankfully, but it's usually not too big an issue (except on expert where panic fire or a tank punch will incap you right away).
