    Digi's Job Delemy

Ok folks back in August I left Comcast to go to work for Wells Fargo partially based off the good experience my wife was having this company plus at the time and I am sure still currently that all things are still disorganized to some extent badly at my last employer Comcast.

Well anyways this past Tuesday I was made a job offer for a company called GoDish.com for Inbound Sales Rep position in their Houston Call Center. The job is primarily sales call and giving out the occasional main phone number to Dish or DirecTV for billing or tech support since this company is just authorized reseller of their services and equipment.

My only fear is the unknown with a local company plus for the first 90 days I am on hourly + comm pay scale similiar to Comcast but after that I moved to Draw Comm System meaning at the first of the month I get 1500 check then 2nd check of the month will be my comm sales from the whole month before - draw. For example 3000 comm sales - draw check = 1500 comm sales check so grand total for the month would be 3000 dollar earned for that month.

Need some feedback. Have to make a decision tomorrow. Adding a basic web poll for lazy folks.

Also the only reason I am looking to leave the bank business is it is slow like it is right typing this post, I am tried acting like a telemarketer by calling people for prospect leads list and recently started staying late hours randomly to attempt to make sales goals.

I mean who the hell wants to hear from a stranger calling from a place they put their money at 730 at night when they know everything is ok.

I don't really know what to tell you, as I've only worked part-time, but good luck either way.

I think you asking the wrong people. The boss at home and your choice is all that matters. Best of luck with your choice.

Beware commission sales has its highs and it can definitely have its lows.

exactly. It's about job security, and reasonable expectations for comissions. You've been in the business, before digital ("digital....well holy shit..."), so your opinion on the commission/phone sales stuff carried more weight than mine.

Well true, but I have taken about 5000 dollar put cut already on the hope I would qualify for Wells Fargo quartly bonus structure but in the past 2 1/2 yrs this branch has been open only 1 person qualify for the basic payout left once. Basically the branch is in a bad location. For example there is another branch less then 15 minutes down the highway and we get confused for them so frequently its ridiculous, then 2 freeway exit down I10 when have no location until the one by my house where my wife works at which is where every customer who lives on this major street keeps asking for a location.

So right now I feel like I am damned if you damned if you don't scernario. On one hand can take a job with a company that I feel confident I know I can do and has the potential to pay me more then I have made in recent years and other hand have salary position with my current employer, but ultimately I dissatisfied with the current situation I am and have been doing my damnest to make the best of it.

Well I did get a sample on tuesday of their call center. The offered and I accepted to sit down for 30 mins with a new rep who has been only with the company for 30 days and got to see how the interact with new customer, their system works and how the call center is setup. The only other thing that peaks my ear up is similiar to Comcast they have work at home program which I truly miss more then ever.

Question, Does anybody have Dalorean I can borrow. I am gonna back to August 1st 2007 and stop myself from taking my current job.

but...unless your job/salary is in danger at WF....I'd say put in some more time, more lines on your resume.

that, or look into a continued education/masters program that WF might even pay for (big companies tend to do stuff liek that to produce more accountants...payign something like 90% of your tuition if you make A's, 80% on B's, 70% on C's, etc).

If it's like that, then, digital.....then it's time to quit.

Nothing is worse being miserable in a dead end job you don't like, or think is going to end up well. Unless there is something you can USE wellsfargo for (like continuing education).....and unless this new company is a ridiculous risk of long term employment (at least a year).......

    then quit.

    I have changed my vote.

With Wells if the pay for your education they will get their money worth, if you leave say shortly after completing your degree then they will have you pay it back. Kind of smartly and crazy when you think about it.

I have come to a realization. I am hard worker. Its a job for me.

The things I have going for me is I am damn good at sales and dealing with people.

Best example I can use is Nicholas Cage in Family Man when he had to convinence his employer from his old life he could do the job he had in his old life though he never held the position in the "what could be" life.
