If it works, and is affordable, it would greatly (or should) greatly increase productivity on some joint projects, mainly people working on large files (i.e. games, movies, large prints) will be much easier. Someone in NY could be working on the same project with someone in LA and could literally see results in seconds.

Oh this could also just mean files will become bigger and bigger and we'll need those huge terabyte hard drives sooner.
