Last year, 2 guys got crushed by a shredder falling on them. They didn't support it properly while they were working under it, they had it lifted by the bucket on a tractor and had backup supports, but the bucket failed and so did their back ups, One died instantly. The other is still in and out of the hospital. He was under there for about an hour before his neighbor heard his dog barking like it was possessed, and went over there, saw what happened and got the equipment together to get it off of them.
Cotton Picker fire, and for your information fresh picked cotton is flammable as hell. The lint lights so fast it is unreal. When it is packed or wound it doesn't burn anymore but the loose lint can light like gasoline. No one got hurt, and they actually saved the picker. Newer pickers have a fire button now that you can mash when you see a fire and run. Shuts down all unnecessary moving parts and empties the basket automatically.
A few years ago, a guy shredding a ditch had a heart attack and his tractor rolled over on top of him.
Damn, I don't want to farm anymore.

Re: TTP Darwin Awards
well gather 'round and listen up boys...
when i was in 6th grade, being the middle school badass i was, i was at the local pool doing some dives of the diving boards. i was then dared to do a belly flop. i of course did so (not wanting the irreversible bad karma of denying a dare) and i did it without to much injury....
so then i was double dog dared to pull the same stunt off of the high dive... having a nice adrenaline rush from the previous smack i agreed. i went off the board flat as a brick and likewise hit like one, the catch was that my mouth was open as i hit the water and so my jaw smacked up and chipped both my front teeth...
so there i was, not only out of breath attempting not to drown, but with blood pouring out of my mouth.... the lifeguard jumped in to save me but she was a scrawnly little chick and provided little assistance....

Kind of like the fan story, when I was in kindergarten I was riding my bike around one morning before school then at my bestfriend's house we turned it up side down and were spinning the peddles because we were amazed at how fast we were making the wheels spin. I ended up chopping off the end of my left index finger down to the bone. I fear bike chains do this day. They get you all schmutzig anyways
