So I'm chillin', relaxing all cool shooting some fools outside of BF2142, just now on Liepzig, and I'm grilling people left and right (and surviving two stab attempts by Turtle, take that you bastid!), and up comes the Firearm Efficiency Pin (4 kills).

So as I'm thinking to myself "that thar is a purdy pin" and "hey, isn't the pistol badge like 5 kills, I should go for it!" I get plinked by a sniper. Now this guy isn't the brightest cookie jar in the chandelier (not to mix metaphors), so I end up spawning right beside him. Instinct sets in and I knife him instead. Cue the hot tears of shame, the round ended, no badge for Draco.

Haha. Just wait until you get to gold, I believe that's 18 kills with the pistol in a round, now that is a pain in the ass. Same with the knife. I think at one point, I got tired of barely missing out so I went to Pistol/Knife only server and got both in a few minutes. Sad and cheap I know, but damn it I was tired of just missing them on our server and I needed the extra points to rank up and I did. Only time I've ever played on a server that wasn't TTP other than before our 2142 server was set up.

What can I say, we were down to the PAC home base alone and getting rapecaked by the Goliath and two walkers, and my SL was just cruising about in a speeder going by the (undefended) back flags, so I was busy trying not to die in between "very gently" reminding our SL to pick a flag and give us a spawn green to lock the main again.

How's the server handling it? I can't check the load averages myself...:rofl:

Anyway I think everyone is enjoying it. If it is becoming too much of a resource hog though maybe we can switch over to an irc chat room with a Java front end.

Just had a look, and it doesn't look too bad - everything is comfortably under 1.0, but it's not quite peak time at the moment, I guess.

Plus we nailed over a thousand bots yesterday, so that's eased the load on the server somewhat.
