again this comes back to innocence and defenselessness. if someone is murdered or raped its a tragedy, but we can at least do everything in our power to stay away from situations like that. dont walk to your car alone at night and dont leave your doors unlocked. that innocent life was snuffed out because that filthy piece of shit thought it would be funny. that is just as bad as murder of a child as far as the depravity it takes to do it. one of the signs of a serial killer is torments and killing animals as a child... this is simply a case of that. he is dangerous and killing animals is a precursor to the killing of innocent people.

This is something that his CO or the military in general should have dealt with from the beginning. So much more important things that are troubling in this war and this gets more media exposure than I've seen in a while....

I didnt watch the video I dont feel a need to not to defend this apparent dipshit but marines are taught to kill indescriminatly you do not hesitate or your dead. However if your not in a combat situation the rules do not apply he can use whatever excuse he wants I'm a marine and I've never killed and animal the fact hes a marine just embarissed the rest of us who live or lives by the the corps values honor, courage, and commitment.

I saw this video on break. When i saw the title i thought it was some sort of a joke, but as soon as i watched i felt a burning sensation in my chest. I dont care how marines are trained, what he did was wrong! Maybe we should grab him by the scruff of the neck and throw his ass of a cliff and see how he likes it.

War is a dirty buisness and it brings out what is frightening in humanity just to survive, but most soldiers remain somewhat normal. Some become like the normal guy who abruptly decides to kill his wife, girlfriend or kids. There are even some who rise above the chaos and do truly selfless things willing to sacrifice themselves beyond what anyone could ever expect of someone. I've worked on a farm having to slaughter animals each one affected me but not overly because there was a purpose to it, the soldier in the video has no purpose but his own amusement and in doing so is crossing a dangerous line that leads to worse things but he is only one soldier not the armed forces. Hopefully he lay awake that night feeling terrible about what he did, if he didn't well he is not who you want defending you, if he did then he is human and can learn from his mistakes and doesn't need punishment but help.
