^ No, it's called mother nature. Just goes to show no matter how "advanced" we think we may be, we're still nothing in comparison to her.

People said the same about 9/11, Chernobyl, and even Indonesia.

I think people are focusing on the Nuclear plant too much. All things considered they are doing a good job over there of getting it under control. This isn't as bad as Chernobyl and the radiation begin released by the power plant isn't going to hang around for very long. Worse case is they'll no longer be able to operate the plant in the future, but that is understandable considering it just went through and Earthquake an a Tsunami.

The Tsunami washed away chemical plants and dumped who knows what all over the the country. Farm lands are covered in this stuff now, that's going to be one of the long term problems they'll be dealing with long after the Nuclear plant is deemed "safe".

Anyway, just saying that they have bigger problems right now, like taking care of the thousands and thousands of displaced people that lost everything.

I highly doubt there will be a nuclear explosion like Hiroshima or Nagasaki. But as far as a catastrophic meltdown? Highly possible, smaller scale explosion slinging radiation and dust all over. It's rather depressing. I hope Japan can figure all this out. It takes more than a few rods to overheat to cause a "nuke" I doubt these rods are old enough to even produce the iconic nuclear mushroom cloud and devastation. Point is, our hopes and prayers should go to these people. They are after all being much more mature about it than Americans would.
