Re: Gas 3.50 a gallon?!?!?!
Wow, there are clearly some bright, well informed people posting here. The trading of fuels, feedstocks, crude et al is very easy to see in the market but difficult to interpret even for folks that get up every day thinking about it, earning a paycheck to make their mortgarge etc. In my mind one of the factors that really got the futures market rockin' and rolling was when B. Clinton cleared the way for financial institutions to invest/risk money in petroleum futures without ever taking posession of a physical barrel. I'm not pointing fingers here....the tech industry had tanked and huge institutional investment orgs were needing homes for dollars to protect retirement plans etc. Bottom line is the amount of money invested in the oil complex exploded. The volume of money combined with demand growth, environmental law restricting refinery construction, geopolitical instability all have exacerbated the understandable volatility in a normal supply/demand situation of this nature. Toss in there the nationalization of oil in VZ which cost billions of dollars for several supermajor oil companies.... And the grim reality that we all are used to being on the tit of the gas pump to get us to work and play.
This supports my personal goal to play more BF2 and drive my 1967 500hp Camaro a little bit less...just a little...hahahaha.

Re: Gas 3.50 a gallon?!?!?!
i haven't really read through this, and i don't know much about the economy and all that, but i'm sick of gas prices too. it's up to about 3.50, 3.60 here in Texas. my little maxima costs 60 bucks to fill up. that's messed up. My dad said gas prices usually fall a good bit after an election year, but i haven't been around long enough to notice. is it true? once McCain gets elected, will gas prices go down?

Re: Gas 3.50 a gallon?!?!?!
here you go kids.....lesson time...
Want to make gas prices cheaper?? "HOW KRAKER HOW!!!?!?!?!?" Dont worry, I'll feed you baby birds.....
STOP BLAMING THE OIL COMPANIES, STOP BLAMING REPUBLICANS, STOP BLAMING THE WAR, STOP BLAMING THE MIDDLE EAST, STOP BLAMING KATRINA, STOP BLAMING EVERYONE!!! Blame yourself....
Supply....plus demand...equals what?? Oh yea...thats right....
WE USE TO MUCH FUCKING GAS!!!! Its that simple....USE LESS!!! You will pay less....When we use less, demand goes down, supply goes up....guess what happens then.....PRICE GOES DOWN!!!!
My Suggestions. Buy a Bicycle, buy a motorcycle, get a moped, buy a car that doesnt run on gas, ANYTHING to stop using gas.
Kids Under 18 on here. QUIT STROLLIN THE MALL PARKING LOT LOOKING FOR CHICKS WHILE YOU BUMB YOUR MUSIC. Lets average it out, lets say you stroll around with your buddies on a weekend night, lookin for chicky's. Lets say (for old times sake) you are bumbin in an Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme (minus the sour cream) with 4 friends. After an hour of driving around (about 70 miles total, after you picked up your friends) You finally find some hot chicks to get in your car....ok...now you have to buy them food, and drive another 20 miles....buy the end of the night, just in gas and food for the chicks....averaging 15 miles a gallon, at 3.50 per gallon, plus food (20 bucks), you have spent 40 dollars just to find some pussy. IT AINT WORTH IT.
EVERYONE needs to do thier part to conserve gas and oil. PLAY MORE COUNTERSTRIKE!!! Stop driving places...just sit at home and play Counter-Strike.....Use public transportation if you can, ride a motorcycle. DID YOU KNOW MOST MOTORCYCLES GET 60 MILES A GALLON!!!!! Yea, its true, i have one.....
Use less......thats all you have to do....

Re: Gas 3.50 a gallon?!?!?!
The Fed is going to end the rate cuts soon, so the dollar should go up, and since crude is in dollars, crude prices should go down.
Presidential candidates are talking about cutting the gas tax and charging the oil companies a windfall tax on their profits.
Cutting the gas tax is a patch fix, a bad one. And while we would generate lots of revenue from a windfall tax..............thats pretty much the most un-american thing I have ever heard of.

Electric would be nice. Im for it but dont forget that if we all use more electricity, it will have to be produced somewhere. that is at the plant where they dont just use nuclear energy but they also burn fossil fuels so emissions wont disappear completely but they will go down which is nice. also im sure the cost per kWh will jump up on us quite a bit. still though we will be saving money and the environment.
