    RIP MIC

Well, it's sad but true my Headset/Mic is shot. No more Talkie Talkie on the Mic for me.
Do you have any idea how strange it is to be in game and not be able to tell your squadmates what's going on? Let's take a moment of silence for my poor headset. :3

Maybe... I have a stand alone mic somewhere. I just don't know how the sound will be on it. Are the settings different for a mic compared to a headset?

    I miss my headset

Now what new headset should I get?? hmmmmm

Big thumbs up in my book. Reasonably priced at NewEgg.

    Dusty,

I also have the Sennheiser PC151's; they are very light and comfortable. I was concerned about their durability, but they've been dropped repeatedly (OOPS!) and I've never had a moment's problem with them. The sound is very good, and I've had other players say I sound like I'm in the room with them.

Newegg's price is good, but this is even better: http://www.chiefvalue.com/product-_-...AFC-ADListings

I'd never heard of Chief Value before today, but they're a Newegg company! http://www.resellerratings.com/store/ChiefValue

    Happy hunting!

    Thanks guys.

In the mean time I found my Mic but am not sure if setting need to be changed on the game so I don't get feedback until I buy a new headset.

I will look into those since there is now two recommendations for them. :9

Sennheiser makes very high quality audio equipment. their gaming headsets are probably the best you can get for the money and their slightly higher end headphones are very highly regarded among audiophiles for their price.

    You wont be disappointed.

if its just the mic thats shot, you can still keep the headset plugged in and just plug the standalone mic into the line-in instead of the one on the headset. unless of course it was a usb headset, then nm :P

those are the same headphones I've been using for the last year or so.Sound good, reasonably priced, comfy and durable. The only problem I seem to be having is not hearing Elkhartadam behind me with his damn knife!......otherwise..no problems...

    Re: RIP MIC

I tried to use them this morning in Bf2 and it was in and out.. So I am guessing the wires are touchy. I have the stand alone Mic but couldn't get it to work in TF. :3

O ya it is USB, so I am screwed. :5

    Re: RIP MIC

I've heard of this problem happening several times this past week.... and I experienced it myself on last Thursday night or so... Mic just didn't work in the game. so I rebooted and the mic worked just find. Steve_S. had the same problem on Tuesday I think... his mic just stopped working. After a reboot, it was fine and dandy... never found the problem; likewise on my end. But everythings working just fine now. Maybe just a glitch...?

try rebooting... and if that doesn't work, try rebooting again... (repeat process)... j/k :9
