People don't fill out....

I really hate the fact that over half of TTP can't or won't fill out their Profiles. Is it so hard to add your age and what state you live in? What about the stats to the games you play?

Grow up! Nobody really cares if you are 80 and still gaming or if you are 13 and still live at home.

Fill that damn thing out all the way

It may be more of a privacy issue. I know that is why I leave mine partially incomplete. Lots of crazies in this world ya know.

I don't have a family to protect, so I have a bit more leeway in filling things out. But I know security (more physical than electronic) concerns do run high in this community due to past issues.

Well there are ways to know how old you are other than profiles but I won't go into detail on that one. It's not like you are telling people the city you live in or your SS#...

Why do we have profiles that offer that info if people don't fill them out? Is telling someone your age and the state you live in going to get you a stalker?

I live about 1/2 mile East of the Astrodome. I also own a pistol, bike to work and fly hang gliders so you can take that into your assesment of my stability if anyone ever gets that pissed they want to come looking for me.

You can also ask players about themselves. They might appeciate that someone noticed them.

If all we had to do is click on a link then that would be thousands of fewer opportunities to, dare I say it, communicate.

Laggy, as long as you don't hang-glide to work with a pistol, you're pretty stable.

You'd be suprised the information that can be pieced together if you work at it.

If you'll remember back to the hacker episode we had a few months ago.... if he went after just our networks with that much vengence, what would he do if he could narrow down more personal details about individuals here. We think rationally or semi logically. Crazy people are just that. Remember last year was it? We had an astronaut drive from Houston to Florida just to 'talk' to the girlfriend of her former boyfriend.

Again, I don't have to worry about a family, so I'm not as concerned. Just me, myself and I. Want to come looking for me? No prob. Unless you got single sisters Dusty, then maybe I'll give you a more specific address. But they can't have any closet psycho tendencies.
