Thread: Are we heading for disaster?

Thanks for starting this thread. It made me think about America from the perspective of a young man. I'm old and see opportunity everywhere. Sometimes I forget of how scary the world looked when I was in high school and college.

You're a young man. Never forget that America's future is already in your hands. The people in charge now are old and will die. That is inevitable. In about twenty years your generation will be in charge. What happens between now and then is up to you and your friends. Please don't lose faith, good man.

anyone can break away, new vermont actually has legislature about this now, just because it is in your state constitution doesn't mean anything, the whole idea about breaking away is that it is breaking away, it doesn't need to be "legal"

However, part of the deal of the annexation of Texas into the Union was that Texas reserved the right to seperate itself from the union whenever it wishes. It was mutually agreed upon.

i think every generation has looked at the government wen they r young and were afraid of it crumbling
some more than others cough*hippies*cough.
it always seems like this in a certain perspective
but in my opinion i think its always goin to be like this
u'll never have a perfect country so there will be parts of the beurocracy that look like they r crumblin.
that is only b/c ppl only look at the negative
there r plenty of programs the looked like they were goin under in past decades that r fine right now
its all in ur mind lol
