Thanks for the reply, really helpful as I haven't played L4D2 for a year. Which game modes are least effected by these problems then?

I know Versus and Scavenge are being absolutely killed by the lack of server connections.

Not sure about Campaign or Survival - I'm not sure if those modes use the same servers. I also haven't played them in ages. :P

You can try it out - if you log into a game with someone who's got the exact opposite colour bar as you (if you're green bar and they're red but it says they're U.S. - then they're East coast) and the game is laggy as hell, then these game modes are being affected by the same servers.
