Physics, the first degree is so that a foreign school will accept me. Most foreign physics undergrad programs cover the equivalent of a U.S. bachelors and Masters in Physics, so to be accepted into one I need the first Masters.

Engineering is fun, but always strive to be the A engineering student who understands where the equations come from. A lot of students (with the exception being EEs) just wait for the professor to hand them the equation they need to know. When you're faced with a unique problem, chances are that the cookie cutter equation you were given won't work. The first 3 Laws of Thermodynamics will get you through most anything from motion to electricity to heat flow. If you go into material engineering, then you'll have to learn Schroedinger's equation, which is a nasty piece of work.
Make sure to get involved with your local organizations (ASME, ASCHE, etc.) to get involved and to do projects to which you can apply your knowledge. Internships and/or research are a must as well.
THIS IS IMPORTANT.---->Take the FE exams. Without those tests, you aren't a professional engineer. With them, not only can you say that you are an actual engineer, but hello pay raise. Of course that's the part of me getting my ME degree speaking.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
