    I hate people who think movie time is conversation time. Anyone talking while I am trying to watch a movie drives me up a fucking wall.

    Ok, just to set the record straight. Firstly, it is illegal to wear a military uniform AND attempt or successfully impersonate a member of the Armed Forces of the United States. HOWEVER. For the charge to be successfully prosecuted, you must;

    A.) Wear the uniform according to military standards,
    B.) Attempt to gain something from it (entrance to a secure military installation, military benefits(commissary/BX-PX/medical-dental privileges, etc), obtain military equipment, etc),
    C.) Not have expressed written consent from the DOD to use said military uniforms in whatever endeavor.

    The DOD may withhold permission if they feel that the movie will portray them in a bad light and give people (who already have bad impressions of the military to begin with) worse impressions. Yeah, that's right, Hollywood has to send the script to the DOD for their review of it, prior to receiving permission for the proper use and wear of military uniforms, procedures, etc. If the DOD does NOT approve of the script, then Hollywood can still use the uniforms and procedures, but now must alter them so drastically as to be readily recognizable to the average, militarily untrained eye, that it is not a correctly displayed uniform.

    This is the reason why so many movies have such poor acting and poor wardrobe/advisors. It's unfortunate, but there it is, more typical American bullshit bureaucracy that just makes us look stupid. But, also unfortunately, there are some really dumb Americans out there who think that because they saw it on TV, it's real, true and factual.

    So there you have it. The true reason behind poorly created movies lack of proper uniforms, tactics, weaponry, terminology, etc., etc., etc.
