And when we convert all our crops toward ethanol production and not food? What happens to the developing nations of the world, who depend on that American food aid to survive?

The more we convert to ethanol the higher food prices around the world will climb, pushing millions of people into poverty and starvation.

Oh, and it will affect prices here in the US too. We have already started to see the impact, coupled with rising transportation costs, to increase our commodities prices.

I don't think biofuels are anything but a temporary means of relief. Further, we've already seens what the minimal amount of stress corn ethanol has put on the food supply turning into a global food crisis and price inflation.

100% electric. Maybe gas or bio-hybrids to supplement that 100% electric in long distances and heavy loads....but 100% electric is on it's way.

No more oil for cars and trucks. No more home heating oil. No more. Build the nuke and clean coal plants, enhance the grid, and buy the soon-to-be-common electric cars.

Let's just skip to the end of the whole organic fuel dance. Oil, corn, sugar, whatever......dead plants for fuel is finished. Time for electric cars.

And think of all the things it solves.....city smog, acid rain...so much pollution from cars = gone. No more OPEC bullshit pushing us around. Fuck Chavez, and the Saudis, and Iran, and all the other drug, I mean oil cartels. Let them try pushing china and india around. See how willing china and india are to put up with their bullshit. No more loud combustion engines......no more of any of that shit.

Just get it over with, people. 20 years, probably less, and we'll all be in electric cars. Oil is done in the U.S. We refuse to "change our lifestyles" and move out of our suburbs and walk to work. We adapt. We're american. So, electric cars.....here we come.

Then I'm not starting anything either, I'm just stating my opinion that you're a complete dumbass. An uninformed, ignorant canadian.

Iraq's going to pay reparations, since that's what countries that lose wars are going to do. Good thing for them, they have a ridiculous amount of natural wealth, and a means to pay us for our "services".

Maybe it's fun in canada to sit on your ass and watch the world go by, but here.....we know the world goes by only because it's supervised and monitored by the policemen of the world. US, the UNSC, NATO, and any legit international organization that most likely canada's minimal impact on the world doesn't qualify them for.

If you're going to sit in the wings, then stop talking to the people on stage. They're busy.

    fucking ridiculous.
wow....i won't even bother arguing with someone who has this kind of mentality ---> "If colin powell and Bush went to war because they wanted sadaam's secret stash of chocalate cupcakes.....I could care less. So long as it all makes sense on papers filed at the UNSC, then that's what had to be done."

Thats what happens when you lose a war you say? An illegal war which had no legitimate purpose or reason? If anything the united states owes iraq.
head to head, chest to chest, which country is the very best? and in the land of rape and honey, you pray.

So what is your brilliant solution? It's great to sit and Monday morning quarterback the whole situation but do you have a better idea?

    Exactly.

Biofuels look like they want to be the next big "oil giants". Farm conglomerates are already wetting themselves trying to get in position to be the next shell and exxon.

in FACT, I'd be surprised if shell and the gang aren't buying farmland specifically to grow corn for ethanol.

Maybe it's a different product....but you're still paying the same bitch the same money.

If ethanol costs as much as gasoline, then it serves no purpose for the american people. So like I said.....skip it.

Eat the corn, ride the nukes. Someone make a bumper sticker.

17 years non-compliance with the cease fire terms of Desert Storm? That count?

Firing on our aircraft during these 17 years wouldn't be seen as an act of war either I guess?

Human rights violations against his own citizens?
