    Re: Net Neutrality

Game rail was in direct conflict with net-neutrality, went against the core principals of net neutrality.... I loved it and TTP seemed to eat it up.
It worked so much better than that old neutral net I run on now, and as a consumer I was happy to pay for it.

    Re: Net Neutrality

I did see the interview when I got home. It did change the tone of the post. When I saw the initital posting on my blackberry, it looked like another charge of 'corporate fascim' to quote our resident 'anti' Rooster.

I am stating that pay for play has already shown its face around here in the form of gamerail and I loved it, as did many others. It game me the option of improving my performance ...... IF I was willing to pay for it.

Does the concept of a reserve slot come into play here? The likihood of people across the internet connecting to the TTP BF2 server is severely reduced if they dont PURCHASE a reserve slot. Should we vote to eliminate the slots? For fairness sake?

I know I am being a pontificating ass here.

Comcast currently routes my traffic from northern Va, out to the chesapeak bay, back to another location closer to my house, up to Philly, then NJ, then NY. Only then does it hit a high performance backbone destined for Texas. My connection to the TTP server sucks as a result. If I could pay for a better route, it would be worth it to me. Good things come to those who work hard, earn money, and buy them. Evil ... I know.

Am I being too short sighted here ? I of course can forsee the ISPs bastardizing the issue and blocking content. I remember AOL had certain limitations in place and attempted to establish themselves as a portal to the internet. Remember AOL? They are the subject of VH1's "Where are they now" specials coming up.
