I thought Americans hated soccer, or football as a better name. I've heard your country is trying to remove the off-side rule :9
-Yay I just go place myself at the opposing GK, play me play me!

Anyway, the USA did very good in 2002.

Do you like it in Germany, Gumby?
Americans do not hate soccer. That is a misunderstanding that the rest of the world has. Soccer is the #1 youth sport in the USA, even surpassing baseball. It is very popular all the way to the college level. It has never been that successful in the USA as a professional sport though. I think that is because it has an image in the USA as a kids game. Some people say it is not popular amongst Americans because of the low scoring, but hockey is a low scoring game that is very popular so that cannot be it. Removing the offsides rule would fix the low scoring issue for sure! But I would not want to watch a game that was 14-12 or something stupid.
Germany is great! Beer and Autobahns FTW!

    Re: Germany WINS!!!

hockey isn't that popular (At least from what i've seen) either though. but i think one problem is no USA team can get a big soccer star (out side of LA and Beckham) due to the stupid salary cap they put in place in the MLS. Btw do you play Football Manager? jw i got the game (well the U.S. version and it rocks :9) anyways think of this way, would you rather watch Ante Razov and Taylor Twellman or Luca Toni and Diego

For those you without a game that has the players from different countries i'll use two popular player. Razov and Twellman or watch Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo? the problem is USA soccer doesn't have an international star to really raise interest in the game, if there was a US born player that could start at a Man U or Chelsea etc i think soccer would gain much more popularity here imo.

Oh and how was the finals match? don't wanna see results just was it dominated by Spain, Germany, even played. close, lopsided? i could it see it because our ABC channel here in Phoenix decided from 10am to 4pm they would do their required transmitter matience, ****ing ABC. The one time its not on ESPN (a channel i would have been able to watch it on) they have to make it so you can't watch it, bastards. Almost really wanna complain about that soo bad right now, why couldn't they do it in the early morning when no-one would watch anyways? (/rant)

Spain was the best team throughout the tourney. I think Germany should be happy they got as far as they did. They had many a narrow escape along the way.

    Re: Germany WINS!!!

Spain played a great match there in the finals, and for once i got to see why people talk so highly of torres, i saw the Euro Championship League game he was in and he looked bad, throughout the Euro 2008 he did but the game i actually saw why he is good when he's good lol.

Really it should of been a higher score then 1-0, but Inesta (sp?) kept not wanting to shoot with left foot and lost i don't know how many chances for a one-on-one goal.
