Re: America is NOT a democracy
Is that the best you can do? Put downs and conspiracy accusations? More Americans die from occupational hazards than terrorist attacks, that was the point. The following is a list of yearly statistics from "Dirty Truths" by Michael Parenti - "5,000,000 workers are injured on the job, 150,000 of whom suffer permanent work-related disabilities, including maiming, paralysis, impaired vision, damaged hearing, and sterility. 100,000 become seriously ill from work-related diseases, including black lung, brown lung, cancer, and tuberculosis. 14,000 are killed on the job. 100,000 die prematurely from work-related diseases." I am sure that a lot of this could be avoided with better regulation, but that costs money and takes away from profits. Here is another quote to illustrate how violence to the environment can lead to American deaths "60,000 are killed by toxic environmental pollutants or contaminants in food, water, or air."

I by no means think America is perfect, and do not think that those who disagree don't have the right to speak out. However, for those of you that preach about how Fed up America is why are you still here? If it is better in (insert country of choice here) then why do you choose to live in America?
I am sure some of you will say I can't afford to get there To which I say plane tickets are fairly cheap. Others will say I can get their, but can't afford to liver there. If it is so great would that not include the economy, so should it not support you once you arrive?
For all of the flaws and warts our political system has, and I agree it has them on every side not just the reds or the blues, how many other countries can you name that have been under the same political system for the last 230+ years. They are few and far between. Why is that? Maybe the founders got some things half right.
