haha, I love Colbert....I remember the old John Stewart commercial "30% of Americans get their news from late night comedy shows...STOP THAT! IT'S NOT REAL! I"M A COMEDIAN!" or something to that effect, lol.
Honestly, the American media news sources I trust the most outside of NPR are the Colbert Report and the Daily Show.  It is a sad statement about "news" when I trust the jokers at Comedy Central more than the "anchors" on the "news" networks.

I also feel that they give more straight analysis and less sugar coating; for either side of the aisle. Which is sad...

The reason they are more believeable is because they consistently mock both sides. How many times in the past month have both of them shown how much McCain looks like a babbling buffoon every time anyone is allowed to stand in front of him with a microphone for more than 3 seconds?

How many times in the same period have they railed Obama for something or other? Admittedly, there is less to go after, but if they can make something funny, they'll do it.

Actively attacking both sides makes a 3rd party far more believeable in any 2 side argument.

Isn't there more than 3 parties?

Unfortunately, not here in the real world. Thus America is polarized to a point that is simply ridiculous. You can't vote for someone with the same ideals as you, you have to choose one from two sets of crappy ideals to represent you.
