Linkin Park were better in their earlier days, in my opinion.
Cris Cornell was pretty good in Audioslave, but he was awesome with Soundgarden.

Cris Cornell was pretty good in Audioslave, but he was awesome with Soundgarden.

Cornell himself was better in Soundgarden, but Audioslave is the better band. You can't beat the musicians from Rage.

The reason CWMP is so BAMF is cause of their progressive sound system....there is a few millisecond delay from the speakers further away from the stage so as the sound from the state reaches the speaker, it is meeting with the sound from the speaker, and not behind it.

Even the lawn seats have bitchin audio accoustics....I NEVER buy seats. only lawn...

oh, and the people who run the concession stands are all my buddie's mom's doing it to earn money for the highschool band program :-P free shit? oh yeah!

I pay more attention to lyrics than sound for most bands. This leaves me with something between distaste and utter abhorrence for most forms of new music since it seems like lyrical complexity died sometime before we hit the new century - what happened to all the complex metaphors and other fun stuff? At best, we get similes or very basic metaphors. At worst, the morons are just saying exactly what they're thinking - where's the fun in that?

Then again, I like being able to read and listen to a song's lyrics and then try and interpret them to get what the band member(s) were trying to say. Brownie points if it can be correctly interpreted in multiple ways (System of a Down did this with several of their early songs.)

I'm the opposite...I listen to the music before I listen to lyrics..I am a musician and especially a "rythmist".
GOOD music + GOOD lyrics = awesome.
BAD music + GOOD lyrics = kinda like a poem to me, kinda boring.
GOOD music + BAD lyrics = I normally zone out the words...
BAD music + BAD lyrics = metal. (ooh..gonna take shit for this)

if the music is good, and they lyrics are bad...as long as they're not preachy/political, I can stomach it.
