Re: Parenting...Dear lord help me
holy crap dusty...he hits you back
I've had all sorts of problems over the years...the most severe of which is ADHD...I've gone to therapists all through out my life, starting in 3rd grade until I got sick of the stupid hippies my jr year of high school, and it did help...
And I was also spanked when I misbehaved...and if I EVER would've had the balls to hit my mom back, she would've gotten my dad. THAT would've been BAAAD....
Y'see...my mom did hand spankings which I could handle....my dad had a big BIIG ugly belt...and he was stronger....
The reason the older one cries is cause he's scared of the spanking...the other one doesn't respect it's authority. He probably knows that if you try to spank him, he can fight back and you'lll stop, so he's gotten "brave" towards spanking, knowing you're unlikely to do it...
Oh, and about Christian feeling bad about not getting spanked, that's how it was w/my little sister...She's a perfect little angel and never really get's punnished....but when I acted up (which happened quite often) she'd always cry cause she felt bad for me....

He doesn't hit me any more. That was when he was younger like 4 years ago. He know better know
. They are more afraid of me than dad. I think it's because I have always been the one to discipline them and coming from a single parent (mom) back ground myself I have learned a few tricks.
I am glad I am getting input from you guys/gals. Sometime when you are so close to the situation you can't see the big picture.
I might have made the kids sound like they are hellions but they aren't it's just those certain times where you think where the heck did my real kids go. They have days were they are polite and respectful (most of the time) but then the next day I think they just need to test the water and my authority.
