The Minnesota Vikings, with an 0-2 start to the season, are turning to veteran Gus Frerotte to bring them out of the hole.

No coach had more faith in his quarterback than coach Brad Childress had in Tarvaris Jackson, who has had 14 career starts. But Childress named Frerotte the starter for the remainder of the season, announcing the decision at his Wednesday media availability.

Going into game 3, after two losses to two crappy teams, looking to Gus Frerotte to somehow salvage the season, with Childress(a MAJOR part of the problem)still calling plays......God its great to be a Vikings fan...

Green Bay and Indy are very legitimate teams but the Vikings dominated both games and somehow manged to lose. That doesn't sound like a quarterback problem.

I too blame Childress. How do you not determine in the OTAs and preseason that Jackson can't play QB well enough to win, but yet you figure it out in the first 2 games? I think he is in over his head.

The problem with the vikes offense is more than just one person. Start with a CRAPPY QB.All Jackson was good for was to hand the ball off.Shitstain passer at best.He has the arm,but 0 touch.His passes were always off. Add that to a dumbass coach with control issues,who is one of the worst play-callers in the league(thats why hey didn't let him call plays with Philly).Chlidress,because of a Qb that can't pass,was limited to keeping the ball on the ground (at least we have KICK_ASS runningbacks) and not able to call any pass plays because Jackson just couldn't get the job done. Throw in some recievers who can't seem to get open even though the defense is playing run on every play(they know Jackson sucks too and know that if they simply play run defense on every down,they have a better chance of stopping Adrian Peterson than getting burned deep by Tarvaris and his company of sleds). Childress,Jackson and the recieving corps are the problem.

Not sure if Frerotte is the solution (doubtful),but Childress had to do somthing (phonecall from above?). He sure as hell can pass better than Jackson,and he has been around a little longer (he is 37),but will surely lack the mobility.
