Thread: Ren Fest

So, this started as a topic in the BigTex forums, and I figure'd I'd bring the topic to TTP At Large...


So who is goin? the one I"m mainly referring to is the one near Conroe...Texas Renaissance Festival...


I'm actually gonna be dressing up this year, at the urging of my girlfriend :-P might have her mom help me make one from scratch...she's very handy with a needle...

Flea and I are going. Gonna spend some time with some sheet metal, a welder, grinder, and a couple hammers to come up with a marauder-ish get up. The weekend we're planning on going first is the 18th and 19th, which is a fantasy themed weekend, meaning lots of cute girls in faerie outfits, so I'll be going as a devourer of faeries.

Still need to find an appropriate looking weapon that I can rig up a sheath for. Stupid costume rules require all weapons to have the edges covered or tied into a sheath or scabbard. I mean, a bunch of drunk Texans running around in armor and carrying battle axes? What's the worst that could happen?
