It's not only the Government that spends, it's us. If I understand our economy correctly it goes something like this: we write IOUs to foreign countries so we can get money to buy foreign goods and gas. Then we let the foreign goods clutter up our homes and we burn the gas to shuttle ourselves between residential subdivisions and low paying jobs. In an attempt to repay the debt we export music and movies. ::shrug:: That's how it looks around Detroit.

I only learned about the different philosophers in my AP history classes, specifically AP European history.
