David blaine dive of death.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ydJ4XBl5_s OK i don't know about anyone els who watched this, but i was so pissed after watching it. so apparently he was suppost to hang upside down for 3 days, and then do some sort of dive 44 feet onto a mat. so watching it live I wait an hour to see what is going to happen, he gets off of the wire onto the platform. jumps only to be caut by a safety rope... thats it... that the "DIVE OF DEATH" I really don't see the point of this stunt. :5

I can hang upside down, I can live in a big bowl of water, I can be frozen in ice. What he does is just mind over matter stunts. Anyone can do it. He's just pointing that out. But everyone in the public thinks he's amazing (But thinking now, I don't think anyone really notices him anymore).
So whatever. He lost his street cred.

He's a TV magician. His tricks have plants and are recorded so they look impressive. They record tricks being done on 50 people and show the 2 peoplethat think he is really doing magic. When he does live shows (magic not publicity stunts) that are not taped then he can be compared to other magicians.

Re: David blaine dive of death.
Those Live magic guys aren't doing anything live that they havent practiced 10,000 times to perfect...so what's the difference?
Did you see the card trick with the dart board?
He had a guy sign a card, stacked them into the deck, let a 2nd guy shuffle, took a dart, sprayed the cards out toward a dart board and threw a dart and hit the guy's signed card...that shit was amazing.

the dive looked more like a bungee jump.
Shortly after 11 p.m., Blaine nodded and smiled to hundreds of fans watching the stunt as they screamed, "Jump! Jump!" and, "Do it!"
So he did, dropping straight down from the platform and touching the stage below lightly with his toes before cables pulled him back up.
He then hung in the air like a sack of potatoes with a goofy grin on his face, occasionally kicking his legs as though he were running.
The stunt, which aired as part of a two-hour ABC television special Wednesday night, ended with Blaine floating off into the night attached to giant balloons.
The finale drew more boos than cheers from the crowd, but his faithful fans nevertheless were satisfied.
Ivy Acevedo, 20, a family counselor from the Bronx, said of the show, "It was amazing. He really pulled it off."
But Kenneth Leonor of Newark, a 22-year-old businessman and part-time magician, called the three hours he spent in the park a waste of time.
"I think it was ridiculous," Leonor said. "Everybody was robbed of their time. Everyone thought he was going to jump, but he didn't live up to his expectations."
Fans were both delighted and disappointed.
The bat thing lost some luster when Blaine started taking breaks every hour to stand on his own two feet.Originally Posted by Trvs
