    Rom and Emulator Ethics

So we all know how this works right? You find an emulator for the console system you want to play then find the rom's for the games you wish to play. My question is this: Is it wrong to download an emulator for a system that you already own and/or for a rom (game) you already have?

"But rock, why dont you just play it on your console?"

Simply put, my snes has had it, and it doesn't really work; not to mention the controllers are all out of whack. I also own(ed) a playstation and Final Fantasy VII. I have both the emulator and the rom, but I personally don't feel wrong about having it. What do you guys think?

And for it being "wrong", I think that if its old enough (you cant find it anymore) then it should be fine. although it's still "technically stealing."

I guess there's arguments to be heard for people who actually own(ed) the game/system and those who didnt.

Emulators only go so far when it comes to an actual game experience. Like playing with other people, or getting special things for connecting console system,s together. YOu can' do thatwith an emulator.. THis keyboard fails.
