Re: Should the passerby be charged?
What do we have police for? Yes, I know they are not always around. What if this situation turned sour and an innocent kid, mom, or anyone was hurt or killed? I in no way sympatize with the perp...she should not face an assault charge...but a different charge relating the use of the firearm. What were her other alternatives? (911, cell pic). If this becomes exceptable practise...people will push the limits...what if people miss read a situation and engage with a weapon?

now, PERSONALLY, if I was the man, I would drawn my firearm, and taken control of the situation through shouting. Normally, when you draw a firearm from a holster, you instantly assume a firing stance...but the ranger's have an inbetween stance where you draw a firearm, have it in your primary hand and hold it against your chest, pointing up and left, with your secondary hand over your primary hand. This position, it is VERY easy to slide fireward into a firing stance.
When you're holding a gun, and shouting. loudly, you can easily take control of any situation.

Far more damage could have been done to the perpetrator by picking up the cell phone and provide valuable information to the athorities.
Just as we do in game, calling out or spotting the enemy many times is just as good as shooting them. Once spotted, he's practically dead (or caught inthis case).

If you were being attacked, and somebody was walking by, would you want them to call the cops while you were being attacked??
