Thread: ALERT: Presidential debate starting now

They took the Palin approach to things. Disregard time contraints and and ignore the questions and talk about whatever you want. To an extent, it's ok to do that, but they were being pretty obnoxious about it.

It was funny. Barack got schooled and had to change up his game.

It's important to remember that Barack is a great lawyer. To him the debate rules were sacred and not to be violated. He had confidence that he could win the debate by staying within the rules of time.

McCain on the other hand is an old-school politician. To him the rules are mere suggestions...what matters more is getting his message across and earning votes. After all, if a politician doesn't get votes then it doesn't matter how good he could have been if he was elected.

McCain took the gloves off and used all the rules like a good politician. McCain knew that the broadcast wasn't going to stop for breaking the rules, so he kept on trucking after the time ran out and danced around the real issues like a prize fighter.

But Obama still kicked his ass according to the polls. He learned more in the first half of the debate than McCain has learned during his tenure in the Senate. Heck, McCain even pissed off his base when he pulled that socialist sucker punch by arguing for the Government to buy back foreclosed mortgages.

McCain thought he was going in the ring with Barack Obama, but found out that he was in there with Muhammad Ali. :10

Yeah, Barring some freak story, it looks like this is Obama's election to lose.

Pelosi, Biden, Obama, and a Democratic Congress....we are in for one helluva ride.

I'm voting Democrat for the first time. Barack doesn't worry me because I can relate to him. We have similar backgrounds, made the same amount of cabbage before he published his books, etc. Biden will only be VP so he shouldn't be that dangerous. I don't think Obama will lean on him too much for advice.

But Pelosi. She concerns me. I don't like her methods at all.

Pelosi is my biggest concern as well. Barrack runs a close second simply because of his socilaistic views on some issues. Biden....well, he just says what people tell him to say. He is the epitome of the word "drone".

ahahhaha. I LOL'd. Biden was such a Barack tool in that VP debate. My wife and I watched that together. She is a litigator and said that if she ever pulled the shit that Biden did in a courtroom the judge would toss her out.

The man needs to get some legs under him.

Yes, we get one more debate between Obama and McCain. Oct. 15.

The format on this one is a little different. The candidates will be seated at a table with the moderator. I expect it will be more discussion oriented than the podium-style debates.
