I think I agree with the ABC commentary though...McCain seemed to have gotten pissed off a couple times.

While I do agree with many of his positions, he is way too extreme; even for me! I was just poking fun at the fact that I am obviously an Obama voter and was from the beginning.

Game over...that debate went well for McCain, overall, I think - but nowhere NEAR good enough to sway 10+% of voters.

And Joe the plumber is famous now, lol.

Man what a desparate performance by McCain. Instead of just standing on the issues and his plan to deal with them he has to 'go on offense'. Lame! And Joe the plumber? That was embarrassing. If you bought into that, man I feel sorry for your parents.

As usual the calm and collected Obama just stuck to his plan going forward. After tonites debate I could not picture McCain leading this country. He justs looks so out of touch.

ahahhaha. I LOL'd. Biden was such a Barack tool in that VP debate. My wife and I watched that together. She is a litigator and said that if she ever pulled the shit that Biden did in a courtroom the judge would toss her out.

The man needs to get some legs under him.
As an almost-litigator (I take the Texas bar in July), I'd have to agree!

I work for a district judge right now, and that crap would never be tolerated. I mean Biden was just making up stuff at one point. He got the wrong article of the Constitution when he was talking about VP powers... and then cited the powers incorrectly!! Palin, for all her folksiness, got both the correct article and the correct powers.

I'm still trying to fully comprehend McCain's statement that if you were a soldier, you should be able to become a teacher without the qualifications that are required of other teachers. My girlfriend about fell off the couch laughing after that. Best of all, he said it immediately after saying that we need to reward good teachers and punish bad ones. .... by letting unqualified ones in?

Somebody in another thread here once wrote an interesting paragraph (it might have been ebacon, but I'm not sure) about how America compares to the rest of the world. Two big problems (both perceived and realistic) are our waste of energy and our poor education. I.e. we're viewed as wasteful and stupid, and on a large scale that is true in some ways. Obama has the balls and sense to tackle both these issues with his desire to improve education and alternate energy sources for the future. Our problems are so bad right now they cannot be fixed immediately, but looking to the future and the next generation is the way to go for sure. The economic policy of both sides is a bit flawed, for sure, but Obama's overall intellectual assessment of the problem and the long-term solution is much more accurate.

Are you serious? All for McCain?

He was angry, divisive, and negative. Obama laid out far more facts and figures in a cool, calm and collected tone while McCain tried to attack Obama's character (and failed) instead of stay on track and discuss what really matters.

I do not know what debate you saw, but Obama appeared far more business oriented and to the point while McCain was making petty jabs at his associations and made very disingenuous attempts to appeal to peoples pathos and ethos; hey, when debating, it's logos that wins.
