Thread: Why I am voting for John McCain

With all the negatives being thrown around at both candidates, I thought I would post why I am voting for McCain.

1. Health Care Plan - His health care plan opens up insurance to the nation rather than having it regulated by each state. When each state regulates it, then you are limited to the insurance companies that are local to you rather than a competitive market. Competition tends to drive prices lower.

2. Energy - Exploring domestichttp://www.texasteamplayers.com/index.php?action=post;board=5.0 oil and gas as well as offering incentives and challenges to companies to produce cleaner vehicles. He will also offer tax credit to those who buy zero emission vehicles.

3. Education - The ability for parents to choose the school they want for their child.

4. Border Security - Secure our borders and start initiatives that prosecute employers of illegal immigrants and allow temporary workers a secure way to enter and leave the country. Also eliminate the backlog of families waiting out of country to be allowed in legally.

5. 2nd Amendment - opposes waiting periods on firearms but supports an instant background check system for purchasing firearms. Opposes ammunition bans and the confiscation of firearms during emergencies. Supports the inclusion of gun locks or other safety devices with each firearm sale and stiffer penalties on criminals that commit crimes with firearms.

6. Government Reform - Stopping pork barrel spending and lobbyists who attempt to buy congressional votes.

These are some of the reasons I am voting for McCain, I also believe he has experience and wisdom with his age and I am not worried about his health as much as others seem to be.
