Re: To the new American Leader -
I'm glad Joe Biden will be there to walk Obama through some of this with his experience.
These issues, along with those here at home, seem pretty overwhelming.
What should we expect for Obama's first term? The table seems to be set and excuses already prepared in case nothing gets better - The scape-goat will always be there to blame. In 2012, when Obama runs for re-election, I wonder how much we will hear about G.W. Bush. That will be interesting!

Re: To the new American Leader -
While I am an Obama supporter to the end, I thought McCain was gracious. He conceded victory to Obama very quickly when it became apparent Obama was going to win; he could admit he got beat and was quick to set the record straight. I thought he handled himself well and his speech reminded me of the McCain I used to know.
He gets kudos from me.
I think Obama will take these challenges in stride. he has turned around some pretty bad urban situations in the states, and with the help of his administration, and especially people like Biden, his friendly, outgoing and ready to take on challenge mode of operation should see him through this.
Of course it is a difficult course, and laden with pitfalls he must avoid. But I doubt he will take actions to worsen the situation. He wants peace, and is willing to do things differently to attain it. His cabinet will be bipartisan and ready to help him do what needs to be done. Don't take him lightly though, I bet if push comes to shove, Obama can shove pretty hard, and shove the right kid in the playground, the real bully or culprit, not a made up one.
Things will get better, but it will be a lot of work. Be supportive of your president until he does something to lose your support; then vote in a different one.
