Paying $1.91 here in San Antonio. These low prices are starting to scare me IMHO.

During preflight we have to stick our finger in the tank and then smell it to make sure we don't have an accidental load of JetA. It's quite erotic.

Do you remember when we gas hit two dollars? Everyone was pissed off and talking about striking and what not.

Now gas is under or damn near close to two dollars again and everyone acts like this is the best thing since the discovery of oil.

First, what are the gas prices where you live and how do you feel since they dropped.
It was at 2.19 2 days ago, and now it's 1.99 here in South Louisiana. Obviously it's nice to have low gas prices (low comparative to the last year or so), but it means our economy is in a recession. Granted I still have 2 jobs and plenty of work to make a living (while I'm in school), so really the "recession" hasn't impacted me that much thus far. Sucks what other people are going through though. Unemployment is through the roof. Hopefully Obama's plans will work out, but with his stubborn stance against drilling, we may see a spike in gas prices a few weeks into his term (hopefully though at least the economy will be back up).

It's down to $1.75 in Tulsa, OK, and I enjoy it very much. I think it's weird though that I have not heard more people talking about it. Maybe it's just the people I'm around, but I would expect there to be a lot more said. I also find it odd, like has already been mentioned, that when gas reached $2.00 it was an atrocity, but now that it's dropped a dollar to $2.00 it's the best thing ever.

That is because at the time, $2.00 per gallon was outrageous considering what it had been before. As Glock said I remember when gas use to be less than a dollar a gallon. However, the fact that gas use to be close to $4.00 per gallon and much much higher for some people around the country, and the world ($10 per gallon in Germany? I think it was), $2.00 seems like a steal compared to what it use to be. It is just a state of refence. Still, $2.00 might be pricy, but we live in a business world and we should be happy with the price we're paying for gas now while it lasts.
