A poll was conducted for a documentary using Obama supporter/voters to determine the impact of the American media on the presidential election. Check the link, watch the videos and see the poll results, then vote. I think I'd like to see someone take up Zogby's challenge and conduct a similar poll for republicans.

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

I believe the results here will be split along party lines. The media helped deliver the result that Democrats desired, so it wont be measured as a fail.

Now if the question is slated as the media doing their job, then I would measure it as an epic fail.

The American news is FUBAR for the most part.

As I've seaid before, I believe we have more news bandwidth than we have news to fill it. The result is that media outlets have to create news to fill the bandwidth. Americans lose in the process. IMO the biggest casualty is a loss of the ability to prioritize issues. Americans have been hearing so much noise for so long that they are starting to believe that every bit of news is equally important.

Conservative tools are the biggest victims. They are afraid of more shit than Carter's got liver pills.

American's over the age of 55 helped Obama get elected, yes there was a huge turn out for the first time in history with african americans and other minorities but in the long run that did help not allowing gay marriage in the bills that were also attached on several states on election ballots.

Plus I have come to realize that everyone is sick of the Bush Administration as a whole, and it is unfortunate that McCain's PR team was in the end the worst PR team ever. I like McCain, I voted for McCain but the entire Bush Administration ruined it, as well as the economic of the nation in the past year.

It will be interesting, I hope my parents taxes don't go up that much, i hope i still have a job in Feb, and I hope that the terrorists don't decide to attack the US again.

whatever. That Zogby poll nonsense is going to be in all elections on BOTH sides. Idiots vote for people for idiotic reasons be it democrats or republicans.

Obama got elected because a large number of people are tired of the republicans. They (repblicans) put forth an real snoozer of a candidate with a dubious conservative track record, and topped it off with a bleach blond airhead.

Maybe the media helped obama but the relative closeness of the results with such a pathetic candidate indicates that regardless of the medias involvement the republicans could have taken this election with a better quality ticket.

You are correct on both fronts and in fact the title of this thread was puposely placed there as a bit of a red herring. Note that while the content discusses the election, the actual question is posed on the media.

Funny, I though Obama got elected by winning the majority of the electoral votes. Silly me, I forgot that the media actually drives the country and that we are all mindless sheep.
