    i was able to view both, and found them informative as well. though i am left with how to you're supposed to answer something like the "do you know how fast you were going?"...just say no? anything at all? :P

    that must be a school/lecture in my area, as most of the examples i recognize from fairly recent news stories (virginia beach is about 30-40 min away).

    Very good info. I'm not talking to the cops again either. Damn. The sad part is, its not that I don't trust the cops or that I think the cops are out to get me. It's the damn lawyers that can spin practically any evidence to their benefit.

    Below is the oral argument of Miranda v. Arizona before the U.S. Supreme Court. Miranda is the case that gave us the Miranda warning which is mentioned in the above videos. Prior to Miranda there was no requirement that police remind suspects of their right to remain silent and their right to be represented by counsel.

    This is an example of the dirty work that criminal defense attorneys do to keep our system honest. It also shows how much thought goes into creating a simple rule of law. But for the "damn lawyers" suspects would still be getting clubbed upside the head until they confessed to something.

    Believe it or not, Miranda is also a "Warren Court" ruling that some spin to paint Obama as a socialist. Spin isn't limited to "damn lawyers".
