Re: Normal for teachers!?
Read the classics, read fiction, read text books, read read read. And try to type your messages online and in text using punctuation and full sentences and words. I have been told I write relatively well. It surprises some people to learn I did not go to school from the ages of 12 through 24. The only reason I can write with some level competency is because I was an utter bookworm. I read everything I could get my hands on, and reread many of them.
If you read a lot you will learn also to write better. Do not rely on extra credit to get good grades; good grades come through not only being smart, but hard work as well. I grade math homework and some psycology papers. I have seen many very smart students fail because they do not do their homework, or they write terrible papers. Do your homework, write a decent paper and you will go far. To help you to that end: read every damn thing you can and understand it. Look up the words you don't know and reread paragraphs that did not make sense. Eventually you too will be writing lengthy discussions that most people will only read the first and last paragraphs of also!
Good luck, Don.
