Also try and talk with the professors that are there. Crappy professors make for a horrible experience, but brilliant professors can turn a boring town/university into an interesting one.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Playing devil's advocate to Coors for a minute, here: sometimes you'll find the right fit in a place you never expected. For example, I went to the small liberal arts college in my hometown, after swearing for years that I was going to get out of there. But it was a better fit for me than any of the other places I looked at. (And I did look at some of the larger universities, which turned out to just not be very interesting.)
...and yet I want to end up in Seattle someday. Go figure. I like living places where I can go out at midnight and be assured of having something to do.
White is absolutely right about the profs. If your department of choice is split between really awful and really amazing profs, well, then you've got some thinking to do.

I am sure there is a lot of BS, but some of the reviews are lengthy, and seem to have some good info.

Could it be any worse than the opinions he gets here from people that have no knowledge of the school except for the fact that it might be in their state, and they like the opposing school in the state, so they hate it? If anyone here actually went to ASU I would for sure value their opinion. As for the site I suggested take it like you would anything else on the interwebs.

And please define "prep", lol.
I've heard preps being called shallow and prejudiced but not inherently stupid. lol.

well it's just that these sort of things seem to draw the opinion of people who have unusually strong feelings either way...
also the number of people who review (UCLA for example) make up .00605% of the student population, many of those may not even be current students.
i've read the comments for the places i want to go, some good and some bad
it just seems like for a good number of them someone had an emotional day and decided to vent...

hey now civil i said i was bias so not like i was saying it was an honest assessment.
as for schools in AZ in general, i believe coors said it as well but most of them have one or two subjects they are good at, and medicore at best in the other subjects. While going to neither school, being on both campuses and living within blocks of ASU, There is more to do off-campus near ASU then there is at UofA. I know for sure ASU is within walking distence of Mill Ave, plus right by the basically bus station for TEmpe where pretty much every bus that goes through tempe stops so you can get around to scottsdale, chandler, mesa, phoenix without needing to drive. I believe you can get a bus card from the University as well, not sure if it is free or you have to pay. there are also free busses that run through the neighborhoods and one goes to the tempe marketplace which is nice.
Lastly the tuition rates are rising pretty much every year it seems, being in state i think it will cost me about 6,000 a semester not including rent, books, etc. Speaking of which from what i've seen rent is pretty high for anything near by the campus.
last 2 point i swear. first i don't trust that website because no way in hell does ASU have the 61st most hottest girls. not saying they are the best, but WAY THE HELL higher then 61st. and i like typing this the ad to the side is for the Keller grad school of management

Hahah, yeah coors said there are a lot of babes.
As for tuition. If it raises a lot each year that's no good, unless I guess it might be like that for every school? I live in California and I went to like an ASU meeting thing and tuition is already really high for me being out of state as it is.
