Thread: Anyone go/went to ASU?

Thanks for the new advice guys, greatly appreciate it.

I'll have to show this budget stuff to my dad. I know the state schools here in CA are having some major budget cuts. All new state funding buildings have had to stop construction completely.

I didn't apply to U of A so it's kind of out of the question now but still useful information in all.
I am going to ASU this weekend to check out it so we'll see.

As for tuition. If it raises a lot each year that's no good, unless I guess it might be like that for every school? I live in California and I went to like an ASU meeting thing and tuition is already really high for me being out of state as it is.

So I went back and actually read the whole thread, and this sort of popped out at me, the fact that you live in California. Is there a reason you want to go to Arizona, because if you're worried about tuition its alot easier to stay in state, the difference is like 20,000 dollars a year...its one of the reasons I stayed in California.

Well just worried that with all the CA budget cuts the schools might not do as well. I probably will stay in state but it's just a school for me to look out for

Its not a question of "if"...the sheer size of the ASU campus dictates you WILL run into one.

unfortunately there are many schools with this problem... here, the CSUs and even some UCs have to cut back enrollment

Yeah but weirdly enough Berkeley and UCLA and Merced don't have to curb it...and I don't know about the other two, but Berkeley definitely needs to cut it back. I have trouble enough getting into classes as it is, cutting back enrollment wouldn't be such a bad thing. They're so desperate to keep its ranking and reputation high though...not that I can really blame them.

i'm glad ucla isn't though cause i really would like to go there and i'm borderline at best

Well good luck to you, even though you'd be helping our rival school if you got in...As long as you hate USC though, you're fine by me.

Late response but...

The school was alright. Nothing really stood out to me as really cool or interesting. I was kind of disappointed in the organization. We set up an appointment for me to view their kinesiology labs and buildings and the lady who was supposed to give us the tour forgot and we had to call her and remind her. I didn't really like the atmosphere all that much, and don't think it was a great fit for me. The downtown was kind of neat though

ASU's a party school man. Whenever me and my friends decide to throw a desert party one good way to make sure it's HUGE rather than just the average party is to invite one person from ASU...just one. People will start showing up with kegs, it's insane. Gonna be going there for a regular four year degree as soon as I get a new job.
