I love when they play the distraction trick and have the whole crowd looking one direction, only to have another jet fly about 600 miles an hour about a 100 feet above the crowd.
I remember that at a Thunderbird show. Most pilots don't do that around airfields during normal operations. thank god.
I saw one Blue Angels show last year here in AZ and yes, they always do that distraction fly by. I almost had a heart attack, the wife practically pissed herself, and my daughter was on the verge of tears. It was fantastic.
Rofl I know exactly what ya'll are talkin about...I recently went the airshow the put on at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and I completely forgot they did that. I was just enjoyin the show trying to play it cool then they come blazin out of nowhere...I wish I had a picture of my reaction :P. I tried to play it off but... :5

I've actually thought of changin from Army ROTC to AFROTC so I could get a shot of flying those. I've always wanted to since I saw them...but I might just end up flyin apaches...like thats a bad thing lol

Yeah... flying apaches must suck. I would never want to do anything like that.

Well I don't yet but when I get to that point in training I will most likely want to fly those, bc in the Army those birds are badass :9 I wish we had the F-22's though that would be awesome :10 :10 :10

Those sneaky passovers would always seem to be over my barracks when they did shows at Miramar MCAS, Saturday Morning practice when I am in the rack with a hangover were the worst. I did get to meet the pilots one year after they had a meeting, one of their maintenance chiefs worked it out for me. They are pretty serious about their work and aren't anything like something out of 'top gun', though one of them joked that he wanted to buzz the tower at Miramar (Top Gun was filmed there back when it was a Naval Air Station).

They do a passover similar to that on Lake Washington in Seattle for their fleet week up there, they close the bridge and let you walk out on it, feels like you are going to get hit in the head by a wing.

If the wings are moving faster than the fuselage, it is a helicopter, and therefore unsafe.

    Blue Angles rock.

I saw them many times at the air show plus on HD Discovery program showing them train etc.

I go to at least one air show a year... The first time I ever went to one they did that sneaky shite and I literally fell on my ass it startled me so bad.

Now... I miss half the show because I'm always looking behind me.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

    Re: Low Flying Blue Angel

I've seen the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds over the last 2 years. Surprisingly after all I heard about the Angels the Thunderbirds had a much better performance. If they had done this then there would have been no match.

My dad was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB in upstate NY and they usually got the Canadian Snowbirds in for their air shows. They were very impressive as well.
